In the ever-changing digital age, one company stands out for its ability to anticipate and counter online threats: CrowdSec. This innovative company is transforming the way we approach IT security. With a €14 million fund-raising campaign scheduled for 2022, CrowdSec is consolidating its position as a leader in the fight against cyberthreats. Let's take a closer look at this fast-growing company.

CrowdSec: the Waze of cybersecurity

Founded in 2019 by Philippe Humeau, Laurent Soubrevilla and Thibault Koechlin, CrowdSec was born with the bold vision of creating an open, community-based cybersecurity solution . The company's mission is to bring together a global community of cybersecurity advocates to share information and countermeasures in real time. Hence the nickname " the Waze of cybersecurity".

Today, thanks to CrowdSec, users can share malicious IP addresses in real time, enabling faster response to online threats.

The explosion in cyber-attacks: businesses on the front line

Faced with an ever-increasing number of cyberattacks, companies are trying to find ever more effective solutions. CrowdSec is well placed to do just that. Thanks to its "collaborative platform", the company is winning over more and more vulnerable companies.

And so, over the years, CrowdSec has grown by leaps and bounds, extending its influence far beyond France's borders. Today, the company boasts several hundred thousand protected machines.

What's more, as co-founder Philippe Humeau explains, "On average, the community reports over 16 million attack signals per day, and has already flagged 8 million malicious IP addresses. Thanks to our dynamic block list, users benefit from an instant reduction of over 90% in the number of incoming cyberattacks.".

Record-breaking fund-raising of 14 million euros

French cybersecurity start-ups rarely raise more than 10 million euros in capital. But CrowdSec has done just that. At the end of 2022, the company successfully completed a Series A financing round of 14 million euros. The round was led by Supernova Invest, with the backing of long-standing shareholder Breega.

This round of financing will enable CrowdSec to realize its ambitions, which include setting up abroad, particularly in the United States, and expanding its workforce, which is set to double shortly.

Today, thanks to its active community and innovative technology, CrowdSec has established itself as a major player in the fight against cyberthreats.

Mantra/Citation CEO

"After decades working in cybersecurity, we realized that individuals and SMEs are the ones who need strong security the most and get it the least. We wanted to solve this problem and bring a collaborative aspect to security so that individuals and businesses can support each other. Because security has to be accessible to everyone." - CrowdSec team.
