Do you know Believe, the French specialist in digital music distribution? Like the music majors, this musical nugget helps musicians and labels share their works on the various streaming platforms.

What is Believe?

Believe was founded in 2005 by Denis Ladegaillerie, an ex-lawyer, and his partners Arnaud Chiaramonti and Nicolas Laclias. Convinced from the outset that it was possible to go 100% digital, the partners developed Believe, a digital distribution platform, enabling independent artists and labels to succeed in the music industry.

From digital distribution on the major streaming platforms to promotion, marketing and copyright management, Believe is dedicated tohelping artists distribute and promote their music on a global scale.

Initially, the music nugget focused solely on digital music distribution in France. However, very soon after its creation, it broadened its scope by setting up operations in several European countries.

Today, Believe is present in over 50 countries and has thousands of artists and label partners worldwide, including renowned artists such as Jul, Gims, Marc Lavoine and Don Broco.

Confirmed growth

For several years now, Believe has been posting historic results. In 2021, the company posted sales of 577 million euros, compared with 441 million euros in 2020. Even better! In 2022, sales reached 760.8 million euros, up 31.8% on 2021.

This is an exceptional performance, enabling Believe to achieve its medium-term objectives 2 years ahead of the plan presented at the time of the IPO.

A valuation approaching 2 billion euros

Believe officially joined the club of French unicorns when it was floated on the Paris stock exchange on June 10, 2021. During the IPO, the young French unicorn raised its largest ever amount of funds, totalling 300 million euros. A particularly successful IPO for Believe, whose market capitalization reached 1.9 billion euros!

Since the IPO, Believe has continued to grow through acquisitions and strategic partnerships - such as the one with music giant Spotify - and has declared its intention to become the "Publicis of music".
